I'll be wearing my life jackets day and night, whenever I am outside of the safety of the boat cabin. It is essential to have a well-fitting comfortable jacket, the ones chosen also include a light, auto inflation and a sprayhood.
 
I need to carry one plus a spare.
 
There is a list of essential safety and mechanical equipment needed to cross the Atlantic Ocean. I am trying to source most of this from suppliers/manufacturers using discounts and goods in kind but it's a pretty long list!
