Our skipper took a few days away from project HQ to catch up with some of our sponsors and supporters at Southampton International Boat Show 2025.
John-Kenneth took a few days to visit the Southampton Boat Show 2025. The visit was bittersweet; he wanted to meet as many sponsors in person to make sure that they knew first-hand about our expedition delay, but also the community and friends that Sofa To Sailboat has built up over the past few years. There were some hugs, some near tears, but overwhelmingly, continued support was promised over the next few hard months as the crew gets Poppet ready for a Winter 2025 'splash', and a whole spring/summer 2026 series of sea trials and visits to events to fundraise in aid of Macmillan, Mind, MS-UK, and St Helena Hospice (Colchester).
The skipper brought along Steven Seagull to meet some sponsors and get into some cheeky mischief.
One of the highlights of the visit was meeting Jaz Turner and joining her on board her boat 'FEAR' to learn first-hand about her inspiring story of overcoming adversity and her recent record-breaking solo, non-stop circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland as a disabled sailor.
