Although we have been a bit quiet on our blog and social media we have been busy working away post-lockdown on getting ready for our crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in our 'dinghy with a lid' in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, MS-UK, St Helena, and Mind.
So far we have raised and passed on an amazing £1804.40 to our charities with the help of our amazing supporters and followers. It is a long way to go to our £100,000 target though! You can donate here: sofatosailboat.co.uk/donate
Covid and social distancing have destroyed our fundraising plans for 2020/2021 but we are hoping with the easing of lockdown that we can still attend some events, whilst finding time between work and family life to help our charities and prepare for our adventure.
We recently attended the North Essex Boat Jumble and the visitors donated £28.58 via our bucket and card reader to our favourite causes.
A big thank you also to JK's family and friends who had a whip-round and donated £78.75 to our charities rather than buy him 'Birthday Pints'.
We have also received some kind of sponsorship and donations from our friends and other boat owners at Titchmarsh Marina to help with project/restoration costs.
